biography  



       

Living by the expression ‘you can be more than one thing’,  Amberlee is a transdisciplinary researcher, illustrator and educator whose work explores creative and research practices as sites of epistemic justice. Working across illustration, health, education, and participatory methodologies, she investigates how creative, participatory, and practice-based approaches can expand the ways we produce, share, and legitimise knowledge.

Her research is grounded in questions of liberatory knowledge production, exploring how conversation, visual design and research archives can function not only as forms of communication, but as methods of inquiry capable of generating new ways of knowing. Through workshops, publications and collaborative projects, she develops creative research methodologies that challenge dominant knowledge systems and support more equitable, relational and imaginative approaches to research, education and care.

Amberlee is a full-time academic, teaching across health sciences, illustration and inclusive education practice, and is a Senior AdvanceHE Fellow.

She is the founding editor of Reconcile Journal, a radical research platform and creative infrastructure that brings together dialogue, creativity and interdisciplinary scholarship to support community-led knowledge production. She also runs illustration studio Line & Honey and serves as a Board Director at 198 Contemporary Arts & Learning, where she contributes to governance, public programming, archival practice and impact measurement.
